The Nano 2 is here!

The Nano 2 is the new and improved next generation of the Ploopy Nano trackball. It’s got an improved sensor and a new fully-configurable button. Simple and effective, it does exactly what you need it to. Drop it easily into your setup wherever you want.

The Nano 2 is available now for even less than the original Nano, at $59CAD!

Upgraded Performance

The Nano 2’s sensor is the new PAW-3222, and gives it a major performance boost over the original Nano. With a polling rate of over 1,000Hz, a CPI of up to 4,000 and up to 10g acceleration, the Nano 2’s sensor performance punches above its weight.

A Button?!

Yes, a button! Now, you might be thinking, won’t that interfere with the pure cursor experience of the Nano? Why, no! Out of the box, the Nano 2’s button triggers drag scrolling mode. Your button-less input experience continues undisturbed with the Nano 2!

Additionally, the Nano 2 runs QMK (just like all of our devices). That means you can configure the button however you want through the VIA web app.

USB-C Connector

As was the case with our Classic Trackball update earlier this year, the Nano 2 is getting an upgrade to USB-C.

USB-C connector has superior mechanical strength than the original Nano’s USB micro-B. This upgrade gives the Nano 2 the same great connector longevity as the rest of our devices.

Open-Source

As always, the entire Nano 2 design is open-source, under the CERN OHL license for the hardware and GPL for the firmware.

The full assembly documentation and everything you’d need to repair it, make one yourself, or mod it is available on our Github.

Nano V1 Last Chance

If you still want to try the original Nano, they’re on clearance starting at $39CAD until we run out of them.

Thank you!

We’ve really enjoyed seeing how many of you have modified and integrated the Nano into your setups over the years. We hope that the Nano 2 will serve this community just as well. We’re deeply grateful for this community’s support of our work, and we’re looking forward to seeing your Nano 2 builds!
